  1. Thanks for your videos David. I have also previously heard that Mortgage Protection leads end in higher premiums.

    Perhaps resulting from the areas that I have worked and the competition therein, when I worked MP, I felt like we were always racing to the bottom when it came to price. I’m sure I would be able to do better now with what I have recently learned.

    In my case: I recently started working FE leads, and my average premium size and number of apps (issued/paid) increased.

    Perhaps this is an exception, perhaps I can give MP another shot with the skills acquired in FE sales.

    1. Hi Raphne – thanks for your comment. Part of the journey in selling insurance is figuring out what type of niche best suits your strengths and personality. There are plenty of mortgage protection agents that didn’t do well in final expense, and vice versa. Once you find something you’re good at and enjoy, the best route is to go all in on it and become a master at it.

  2. What leads are you working to have a 60% attrition rate? 12 appts from 20 leads??

    1. If you’re converting 60% of your leads into sales over a long period of time, you are a God among insurance agents =)

    2. @David Duford Okay, maybe it is a confused point. My concern is the conversion of leads into appts. Appts into sales is a given, otherwise you shouldn’t be in sales. I was simply astonished that the conversion of 20 leads into 12 appts was possible. Where are those leads from?

    3. OK. Appointments = set appointments by phone to present, *not* closed applications. Does that seem high to you? It should be doable with fresh, exclusive direct mail leads. I have multiple vendors – one internal. I also like LeadConcepts as well.

    4. @David Duford Okay, glad we came to an understanding. Sorry for the confusion. I guess I haven’t seen the direct response/direct mail successes because I haven’t wanted to spend the money and skepticism reigned. Thanks for the responses. I’ve enjoyed your vlogs and insights.
